Welcome to Troop 350!
We are linked boys and girls Scouts BSA Troops, chartered by Fairlington United Methodist Men and meeting at Fairlington United Methodist Church. We are young Troops, with our boys founded in December 2017 and our girls in August 2021.
We believe in trained leaders, parents and youth, and are committed to the aims and methods of Scouting.
Our program is dedicated to character development, citizenship training, personal fitness, and leadership development, focused on service in our community and fun in the outdoors!
We draw many Scouts from Pack 350 and surrounding packs and our philosophy is: There's always room for another Scout!
The founder of Scouting, Robert Baden Powell, once said, "The spirit is there in every Scout; it has to be discovered and brought to light." We believe that is best achieved through the patrol method, where Scouts learn to function as members of small teams called patrols. The patrols are guided and enabled to plan their own activities among themselves, and with the larger Troop. Trained adult leaders are there to guide Scout-led activities and keep the Troop safe.
Our Scouts attend summer camp every summer, most recently at the James C Justice National Scout Camp, on the Summit Bechtel Reserve in West Virginia. While there, new Scouts participate in the Brownsea Island Program, earning all the outdoor skills requirements up through their First Class Rank and older Scouts complete merit badges.
We look forward to more camping and outdoor fun this program year!
